Puzzle Time!
I got really into puzzles during 2020, like a lot of us did. There’s something satisfying about sitting down with a thousand scattered pieces and slowly making sense of them. But here’s the thing nobody tells you: once you finish a puzzle, it kind of just sits there. You’ve solved it. The mystery’s gone. Now what?
That’s what makes the Puzzle Library on McKennie Avenue in East Nashville such a great idea. It’s a little painted box, colorful and hand-built, planted in someone’s front yard, stocked with puzzles neighbors have dropped off. Grab one, take it home, and when you’re done, bring it back and pick out a new one for your next rainy afternoon.
If you’ve still got puzzles sitting around from your own pandemic hobby phase, this is the perfect excuse to pass them along instead of letting them collect dust in a closet. It’s the kind of small, neighborly idea that makes East Nashville feel like East Nashville.
