Each year the Cooper Trooper Foundation hosts it’s primary fundraiser, the “Pumpkin Patch” at the corner of Cool Springs Blvd. and Mallory Lane. We will open Saturday, October 18th in 2025, through Halloween…or until we run out of pumpkins. The Pumpkin Patch is operated by hundreds of volunteers throughout the month.
We are proud to say that after we pay for pumpkins, 100% of the profit from this fundraiser goes straight to the Cooper Trooper Foundation. It is because of our volunteers, generous sponsors, and the thousands of customers who purchase their “pumpkin for a purpose” that we are able to continue doing what we do to help these families whose worlds have been turned upside down by childhood cancer. Ace and Lynn say it’s become a mission for their family to share the farm with others, so that they might feel the same connection to the natural world that they’ve experienced.
“We wanted to create something that would give people a chance to come out and enjoy the country, disconnect for a moment, and get away from the hustle and bustle,” the Wilsons explain. “That was a joy for us when we were growing up, and for our children, and it’s more important than ever that we offer that joy to others.”

The historic working farm is located in the gently rolling hills of Franklin, Tennessee. They are only open to the public a few days in the Fall. The seventh generation farm has been owned by the family for over 165 years. In recent years we have diversified the farming efforts to include pumpkins and raising beef cattle. They also grow about 100 acres of hay which they use to feed our animals in the winter. Our main focus is to offer educational programs for groups in the Fall and the Spring and they also offer a down-to-earth fun Summer day camp. The Gentry Farm is a past recipient of the “Conservation Farm of the Year” for Williamson County for our efforts in stream mitigation and wildlife conservation easements. God has blessed us with this beautiful land and we enjoy sharing His creation with the community. More info at gentryfarm.com

The Walden Pumpkin Farm Story
Walden Farm was purchased in 1986. It is nestled between the rolling hills of Rutherford and Williamson County. This 265 acre farm became the perfect place for the family to establish a homestead, and a place of serenity and harmony for the family to live and grow. Three generations of Walden’s live on the farm.
In 1999, the next chapter unfolded. A few rows of pumpkins were planted in the garden just for fun. We had no idea we’d be picking close to 500 pumpkins at harvest time. What were we going to do with all those pumpkins? Not knowing the answer, we picked them all and piled them up against the barn. The answer soon came as people pulled into the farm to inquire about buying a pumpkin. The idea was planted, and we knew the interest was definitely there. After much thought and planning, the family decided to grow more pumpkins and open the farm for the community to enjoy. More info at waldenpumpkinfarm.com
